Gratitude

Hello!! I hope everyone had a good week!!

My week was really good!!

Here are my thoughts this week:
Gratitude. Oh my goodness. I love gratitude!! This week I've been thinking about gratitude a little bit as Thanksgiving approaches and I came to the realization of just how selfless showing gratitude is. The courage to say thank you is also a huge step in putting aside pride. When Christ was on the earth He showed endless gratitude to his Father in Heaven, and He was the perfect example of selflessness. We should all be showing gratitude for our Savior and Heavenly Father!

My favorite part of this week was Friday night. We met with our friend Max, from the ysa ward, to do a Book of Mormon read! Max was a convert to the church a few years ago, and he basically just sat and told us his conversion story and what he was struggling with now and questions he had. He took himself out of a very dark place, and gave it all up to the Lord. I asked him what it was that helped him really give up all that heavy burden completely up to the Lord and just what he said, his perspective on repentance and the Lord's mercy was so profound to me. (I wrote it down in my journal so I promise this is word for word haha). He said, "well I knew that what I was carrying would break me, but it won't break my Savior. Because He looks at us and says, what's one more thing? I'll carry it for you." It's so true. The Savior made everything possible for us, and while he was here on earth, he taught and loved with everything that he had. And then he died, and suffered for us with everything that he had. Give it up to him!! He wants to take it and ease your burdens because he knows what you can be without your sins and heartaches weighing you down.
Also relates to this scripture:

Alma 41:6-7

6And so it is on the other hand. If he hath repented of his sins, and desired righteousness until the end of his days, even so he shall be rewarded unto righteousness.
7 These are they that are redeemed of the Lord; yea, these are they that are taken out, that are delivered from that endless night of darkness; and thus they stand or fall; for behold, they are their own judges, whether to do good or do evil.

Anyways have a good week!! Thanks for all the prayers and love and support it means the world.

Also!!my other fav part was pulling up to the temple Saturday with the grounds FILLED with people!! It was a bunch of wards who came and helped put up the lights for Christmas!! It was the most beautiful sight in the world, warmed my heart.
